Cyclamen persicum

Cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum) has heart-shaped, silver-marbled leaves and elegant swept-back flowers in pink, red and white. It's ideal for late fall and winter color in shaded Arizona entries and pots. Water at the soil line and keep out of hot afternoon sun. Find cyclamen at Verde Valley Nursery in Fountain Hills.

Water: Moderate; water at the soil, not the crown

Size: 6 to 9 in. tall

Best for: Shaded entries, pots and winter color
