Firecracker Plant (Russelia equisetiformis) has fountain-like green stems covered in bright red tubular flowers for much of the year. Hummingbirds love it, and it looks great spilling over walls or along borders. Handles Arizona heat with regular water. Available at Verde Valley Nursery in Fountain Hills, AZ.
