Ocotillo (Fouquieria splendens) is the iconic Sonoran Desert native with tall, thorny canes that leaf out after rain and are tipped with red-orange flowers in spring that hummingbirds love. It makes a dramatic vertical accent or living fence. Very low water once established. See our ocotillo at Verde Valley Nursery in Fountain Hills.
